About the Actors

Martin Buchanan has appeared in HASF productions in the park including Shakespeare in Love, Merry Wives of Windsor, Richard III, and Macbeth. He has been seen on many stages in Kansas City including KC Rep, the Coterie Theatre, Late Night Theatre and New Theatre where he also was Assistant Director for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Martin has worked regionally at theatres in Houston, Seattle, and Colorado and internationally at theatre festivals across Canada and at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival in Scotland. Martin is married to local Costume Designer Georgianna Londré Buchanan and they are the proud parents of their son Felix.

Kendra Keller Iris Nymph

Kendra Keller is thrilled to be returning to Southmoreland Park this summer. Previous Heart of America Shakespeare Festival work includes Hamlet and Merchant of Venice (at The White Theatre and JCCC), as well as educational programs Romeo & Juliet to Go and Heroes & Villains.

Kendra also recently had the pleasure of playing Titania in The White Theatre’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, honoring Shakespeare Festival founder Marilyn Strauss.

Ellen Kirk

Ellen Kirk has appeared in the previous Heart of America Shakespeare Festival productions Shakespeare in Love and Much Ado About Nothing. Other local credits include: The Humans with the Unicorn Theatre, And Then There Were None with Kansas City Actors Theatre, Milking Christmas, The Ballad of Lefty and Crabbe, and Shearwater at The Living Room Theatre. Ellen has also done a variety of commercial and voiceover work, thanks to Stacey at Moxie Talent Agency.

Jerry Mañan

Jerry Mañan is a recent graduate from Avila University where he earned degrees in both Acting and Film & Digital Media. Since graduation Jerry has worked with such theatres as Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, New Theatre, KC Public Theatre, Forge Repertory Theatre, and The Omnivores, along with being a part of Kansas City’s Fringe Festival the last two years.

As always, he would like to thank his friends and family for their constant support, and the countless mentors that have helped him and continue to help him along the way.

Deanna Mazdra is so very excited to be a part of this bit of digital Christmas magic. Before the pandemic, Deanna was last seen in A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Sidonie Garrett at The J! She has been seen around town at The Coterie, Kansas City Public Theatre, and Spinning Tree Theatre, or out of town at Maples Repertory Theatre and Creede Repertory Theatre. Nowadays, Deanna spends her time snuggling up to her two pups and her husband when she is not making masks for her Etsy shop named after said pups: QuinnAndIvyShop! Kristopher Stoker holds a master’s degree in acting from the University of Arkansas and studied improv at The UCB Training Center in NY. He’s been a performer, director, and educator with KC Rep, Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, KC Improv Company, Kansas City Actors Theatre, The Coterie, Pembroke Hill Upper School, Trike Theatre, Park University, Avila University, TheatreSquared, and ArkansasStaged (founding member). Stage credits include A Christmas Carol (KC Rep); Much Ado About Nothing, The Taming of the Shrew, King Lear, The Tempest  (Heart of America Shakespeare); Revolutionary Zoom (online performance), The Ballad of Lefty & Crabbe (The Living Room Theatre); An Ideal Husband, Othello, Hamlet, Timon of Athens, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, The Seagull, Twelfth Night (Cincinnati Shakespeare Company); The Spiritualist, The 39 Steps, Noises Off, and It’s a Wonderful Life, My Father’s War (Theatresquared); White Rabbit Red Rabbit, Love Song, Gertrude Stein Plays Paris, and Picasso At The Lapin Agile (ArkansasStaged). Kristopher feels lucky to be able to act alongside his son and serve as production editor in this digital theatre piece.

R.H. Wilhoit is happy to be back with Heart of America Shakespeare Festival this winter! He is a Kansas City actor, most recently seen in HASF’s Shakespeare At Home, Electric Poe (Coterie), Every Brilliant Thing (Spinning Tree Theatre), Milking Christmas (The Living Room), and Puffs (Coterie). He is also an artistic board member of The Confluence Theatre Company. R.H. sends love and appreciation to his dog, Ellie, his partner, Alisa, and his father, Chris, for their continued support.

Meredith Wolfe is pleased to be back with Heart of America Shakespeare Festival after recent performances of Yard Bards and ShakesFear. You may have previously seen her around town at The Unicorn (The Ghosts of Lote Bravo), KCAT (A Streetcar Named Desire), The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City (The African Company Presents Richard III), or Late Night Theatre (Purple Reign). Weiyi Zhang is thrilled to be a part of this creation! She is thankful for this opportunity to play with fellow artists and to be inspired by them. It has been a year for her to realize how lucky she is and how much she loves acting. She would like to thank her mother for her unconditional love, and her husband for believing in her, supporting her, understanding her and loving her. Finally, she would like to express tremendous appreciation for the ones who have not stopped creating, telling stories, and making magic! Merry Christmas!

Youth Actors

Kieran Ford, a member of Heart of America Shakespeare Festival’s Team Shakespeare, is excited to be part of this Shakesperian twist on A Christmas Carol. In normal times, Kieran is frequently seen on stage at Theatre for Young America, where his credits include Best Christmas Pageant EverDragons Love TacosA Wrinkle in TimePeter Pan, and more.

Maggie Herber is thrilled to be part of this show! Maggie has been part of Team Shakespeare for 7 years. Most recently she played Kate in Team’s production of The Taming of the Shrew and the year before, played Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. Maggie is a junior at Shawnee Mission South High School and is very involved with the theatre program there as well.

Naomi Kriege is so excited to be a part of William Shakespeare’s Christmas Carol! When she isn’t at rehearsal, she attends Lincoln College Preparatory Academy as a Junior where she is a dedicated member of the theater club and symphonic orchestra. Naomi has participated in Camp Shakespeare since the age of 10 and has been a member of Team Shakespeare for 4 years. Naomi has spent her last two summers participating in the Team pre-show parody at Shakespeare in the Park. 

Aliyah Velazquez Pullin is an actor with Heart of America Shakespeare Festival’s apprentice acting troupe Team Shakespeare and is a senior at Olathe South high school. She has been in productions of Romeo and Juliet, As You Like It, Mamma Mia, Almost Maine, and was most recently the lead role in the world premiere of Ghostlight, by Stephen Gregg. When she is not onstage, Aliyah can be found playing cello, tending her school’s community garden, or taking long walks on the beach. She wants to thank her family for supporting her and her friends for being there for her! She is beyond excited to perform for you and hopes you enjoy the show!
