Volunteers

Volunteers are an important key to keeping the Shakespeare Festival free for the community. There are several opportunities to volunteer year-round, and all ages are welcome to participate.

Individual Volunteers
We need 10-20 volunteers each night to assist with front-of-house duties before the production and during intermission. For questions or more information, please email Hannah Fuhlhage at hfuhlhage@kcshakes.org or call (816) 531-7728.

Corporate and Company Group Volunteers
Groups are encouraged to volunteer one or more nights. Festival Volunteer Groups are recognized from the stage and can wear company t-shirts and/or logos while volunteering. It is a great opportunity to promote your company or organization while supporting the Festival. For questions or more information, please call or email Hannah Fuhlhage at hfuhlhage@kcshakes.org or (816) 531-7728 to discuss available dates and to reserve your night in the park!

What to Expect
Volunteers should arrive at Southmoreland Park by 5:30 p.m. on your chosen night(s). Please see the Festival Facts page for available parking options. When you arrive to volunteer, please check in at the food and beverage ticket tent just inside the front gate. Job assignments and instructions will be given after check-in. No prior training is needed. Most volunteer jobs are finished between 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 pm. Some jobs are finished by the time the show begins. Volunteers get early access to our general seating area to save a spot to watch the show from on the night they volunteer.
