Bach Aria Soloists, A Winter’s Tale in Word and Song

A FREE community concert featuring excerpts from the December 7 concert A Winter’s Tale in Word and Song.

Combine scenes from Shakespeare’s greatest plays with the works of Bach, Mozart, and Vivaldi and a couple of beloved, centuries-old carols, and … it’s reason to welcome winter.

Some of Kansas City’s favorite classically trained actors – Matt RapportJan RoggeJake WalkerJustin Barron, and Amy O’Connor – join the Bach Aria Soloists in creating a special wintertime story. Scenes from A Midsummer Night’s DreamThe Winter’s Tale, and more of Shakespeare’s works are performed script in hand, directed by the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival’s executive artistic director, Sidonie Garrett.

Guest cellist Michael Mermagen joins Elizabeth Suh LaneElisa Williams Bickers, and Sarah Tannehill Anderson of the Bach Aria Soloists in performing Mozart’s Laudate Dominum, Vivaldi’s Winter Concerto, Bach’s Viola da Gamba Sonata No. 1, and the Wexford and Coventry carols.

Co-presented by the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival and Bach Aria Soloists.
