Kelly Hunter, Artistic Director of Flute Theatre Company, formerly of the Royal Shakespeare Company in London, is bringing her Hunter Heartbeat Method for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to Kansas City in collaboration with the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival.
For the past 20 years, the Hunter Heartbeat Method has used the rhythm of iambic pentameter in Shakespeare’s plays to help children with ASD enhance social skills.
We are currently accepting up to 30 children with an ASD diagnosis, ages 9 – 16, each to participate in a workshop and performance, January 6 – 9, 2018. THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR, the first 30 students who apply will PAY NO TUITION FEE.
