Year-round Instruction

The Festival offers year-round education programs with classes for young people.

Shakespeare Conservatory and Team Shakespeare provide students ongoing and in-depth theater training and exploration of Shakespeare and his work.  Class location for Sunday classes will be KCYA, on the campus of St. Teresa's at 5601 Wyandotte, Kansas City, MO.

Team Shakespeare Performances

In May 2014 the Festival's teen performance company presented three performances of The Taming of the Shrew

Team Shakespeare performs Hamlet
Shakespeare Conservatory is a year-round Acting Intensive for students interested in a deeper exploration of Shakespeare through performance of his works.  Open to all levels. 

Team Shakespeare is the Festival's apprentice acting troupe. Students must complete one year in Shakespeare Conservatory in order to be elegible to join Team.

Both groups meet year-round on Sunday afternoons at Kansas City Young Audiences on the campus of St. Teresa’s at 5601 Wyandotte in Kansas City, Missouri for instruction, rehearsal and community performance opportunities. 

 

Shakespeare Conservatory:  Sundays 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Team Shakespeare:  Sundays 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Fall semester. 2:00- 6:00 p.m. Spring semester

Classes run September 7- December 8, 2014

Improvisation for the Theatre

ENROLLING NOW!

 Adults who want to learn key professional theatre skills can enroll now for our upcoming adult improvisation class. The six week course will focus on setting the performer free in an environment where you can find your “silly” and expand your performing skills. This high energy, interactive class will be led by Festival Director of Education, Matt Rapport. Classes meet Monday nights, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.  January 19 through February 23, 2015.
